Frequently Asked Questions

We’re here to make your care simple, clear, and stress-free — here are answers to some of the most common questions we get.

Do I need a referral to book an appointment?
The truth is, every visit is a little different. Generally, no — you do not need a referral to see us. We welcome guests for both our Podiatry and Health & Wellness Coaching services without one. That said, every person’s insurance plan is unique, and some plans do require a referral for certain visits or specialists. To have a clear understanding before you come in, please call or email the office and we’ll help you confirm exactly what your plan needs. We’re happy to walk you through it.
What conditions do you treat?
We care for the whole person across two connected areas:
Podiatry (foot & ankle): Heel pain and plantar fasciitis, foot and ankle pain, foot and ankle fractures, ingrown toenails, toenail fungus, bunions, sports injuries, diabetic foot care, wound care and limb preservation, tendon issues, and dance medicine. We also see many guests looking for a second opinion.
Health & Wellness Coaching: We help with the lifestyle factors behind long-term health — nutrition, physical activity, stress, sleep, and social connection. Coaching is especially valuable for preventing and managing chronic conditions, building sustainable habits, and turning your doctor’s recommendations into a plan you can actually live with. Whatever your age or ability, our focus is helping you stay active and feel your best.
Are custom orthotics really worth it?
For the right person, yes. Custom functional corrective orthotics are made specifically for your feet, your gait, and your activity level — not a one-size-fits-all insert off a shelf.
From the Podiatry side: Custom orthotics can relieve heel pain, correct alignment and mechanical issues, take pressure off problem areas, and help prevent injuries from coming back. Because they’re built from an assessment of how you actually move, they address the root cause rather than just cushioning the symptom.
From the Health & Wellness side: Comfortable, supportive feet make it far easier to stay active — to walk more, move more, and stick to the healthy routines that keep you well. When your feet don’t hurt, movement stops being a barrier and becomes part of your everyday health.
The honest answer is that they’re worth it when they’re the right tool for your situation. We’ll evaluate your feet and give you a straight recommendation.
What should I expect on my first visit?
We want your first visit to feel unhurried and personal — we’re a smaller, more intimate practice by design, so you’ll get real time with your provider.
Podiatry first visit: We start by getting to know you and your medical history, then examine the area of concern. We offer in-office conveniences like digital X-rays and ultrasound imaging, so we can often diagnose and start a treatment plan the same day. Please arrive 10 minutes early to complete paperwork, and bring your ID, insurance card, a list of current medications, and any recent test results, X-rays, or records.
Health & Wellness Coaching first visit: Plan on about an hour — this is dedicated time to get you on track. We’ll explore your vision for your health, talk through where you are now, and begin designing a personalized, realistic plan together. It’s a collaborative, judgment-free conversation, not a lecture. You’ll leave with clear next steps you can actually follow.
What insurance plans do you accept?
We are in-network with Aetna (not all plans), Cigna, Medicare, United (not Medicare Advantage plans), VA, Lee Health, Best Care Alliance, and WebTPA. Because plan details vary, we recommend calling your insurance company to confirm your specific coverage and benefits — or call our office and we’ll help you check whether we’re in-network for you.
